Arizona standout high school football player Jeremiah Aviles was discovered shot and killed

Police are investigating a shooting that left a standout football player dead. Jeremiah Aviles a star football player for Red Mountain High School was just weeks away from graduation.

When officers arrived, they found 18-year-old Jeremiah Aviles dead in the home. It’s unknown what led up to the shooting.

The principal Steve Tannenbaum released this statement following Aviles death.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Jeremiah Aviles, a Red Mountain senior, passed away early Sunday morning. Jeremiah was a beloved member of our Red Mountain community, and he will be missed greatly. Our thoughts are with his family.

At present, the circumstances that led to his death are unclear, and Mesa Police are actively investigating the matter.

Police are looking into the death and still have no suspects.
