49ers working to trade Trey Lance? Does this mean the 49ers made a huge mistake?
The San Francisco 49ers made a huge trade to land Trey Lance, giving up their 2021, 2022 and 2023 first-round choices, along with a third-round pick in the 2022 draft to the Dolphins.
Now just a couple years later the 49ers are fielding trade calls from teams. Does this mean the 49ers are willing to admit that they made a huge mistake by salvaging their draft to get Lance?
The Niners were blessed to have Jimmy G and select Brock Purdy with the last pick in the NFL Draft. While Purdy could miss a lot of time this year, the 49ers signed Sam Darnold another high draft prospect to come in and help lead the way.
Trey Lance Trade Rumors?
What could the Niners get in return for Lance? Maybe a third round pick? I am not sure the value a team may have on Lance, but he has not really proved himself.
Lance has appeared in eight games with four starts over his young career. He’s completed 55 percent of his passes for 797 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also rushed for 54 yards with a TD.
I was crushed by the media for comparing Trey Lance to Ryan Tannehill. People slaughtered me, with others saying he was Mike Vick, John Elway and others. At this point in my prediction I would like to think I was pretty damn close. Ryan Tannehill was horrible with the Dolphins before getting dealt to the Titans. He had a decent couple years but he is not a franchise QB.
I wouldn’t trade for Lance, but I also told many people when they asked me my thoughts on Lance to stay away from him. They didn’t listen.
