New York State had 16.34 billion wagered in Sports Betting this year

Let’s face it, Sports betting is becoming so popular. People are dropping thousands of dollars on Sports betting and it has become a mainstay in some states over the years. There is a new king in town when it comes to sports betting now, Nevada is no longer the boss when it comes to placed bets on your favorite team.

Which State makes the Most money off Sports Betting?

New York State is a betting state now and sports fans are putting up some big-time money. According to a report completed by SportingPedia, New York had the largest reported sports wagering handle and revenue totals for the year. 16.34 billion dollars was handled by sportsbooks last year.

New Jersey comes in second where 1,138 dollars per person was the average amount spent per capita.

When it comes to per capita, Nevada wins big with 2,686 dollars per person but the states are making tons of money off sports betting.

Here is my question, why hasn’t every state agreed to allow sports betting?

Over the past twelve months, sportsbooks all over the country have reported a total handle of around $95.7 billion, so an average of $287 per person was wagered on sports.

There are still a ton of States that are not allowing Sports Betting, but if it can generate money like this, why wouldn’t a state want the extra funds for their cities?
