Bengals running back Joe Mixon charged with aggravated menacing
Joe Mixon is in the news again. According to the Cincinnati police department, Joe Mixon the Bengals star running back is being recharged on Aggravated Menacing charges from February 2nd, when Mixon is accused of pointing a gun at a woman during a road rage incident.
Mixon’s charges were dropped on February 3rd the day after he was initially charged, so police could further investigate the situation.
Police obviously have completed their investigation and refiled the charges on Friday. It is a misdemeanor of the first degree, the most serious level of misdemeanor.
“This decision was reached following the discovery of new evidence during the investigative process,” a statement from Cincinnati police said. “To preserve a fair and impartial judicial process for all parties involved, no investigatory details or evidence will be disclosed outside of official court proceedings.”
Mixon has been summoned to appear in court April 19.
Mixon has been in the news quite a bit this off-season. This is not a great look for the former Oklahoma running back that suffered from run-ins with the law back in his college days. This is definitely not what the Bengals want from their star running back.
