Colin Kaepernick agrees to pay the autopsy costs of inmate that mysteriously died in Georgia jail
Colin Kaepernick the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is stepping up for a family of a young man that died under peculiar circumstances in a Georgia County Jail.
According to TMZ Sports, Kaepernick has agreed to pay for the autopsy of LaShawn Thompson. The family believes the facility is to blame for their unsanitary conditions.
The official autopsy came back undetermined on how he died, so Kaepernick is going to pay for another one with a different examiner.
Autopsy’s are not cheap they range anywhere from 20 to 50 thousand dollars.
Thompson family believes the disgusting conditions contributed, if not caused, LaShawn’s death.
“The cell he was in was not fit for a diseased animal. This is inexcusable and it’s deplorable,” Thompson family attorney Michael Harper said of the cell where LaShawn lived, and ultimately died.
It will be interesting to see if the County/State hid anything from the investigation.
