What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Actually I only started playing football my senior year of high school and it’s because I was told I’d be better at football. So my senior year of high school I played and fell in love with the game. I found a new passion and just ran with it from there.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

To become the player I believe and know I am. Prove it to myself that I worked hard for a reason and it pays off as long as you work and believe. To also show people that no matter where you gotta come from or overcome during your journey you can do it!

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Dez Bryant definitely because we went to the same college and he is a player that shows his passion at all times and especially with his game. Dez was a dawg and the whole league knew that.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Competing in practice everyday and learning to love the process and grind. While also making life long relationships with teammates.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mother and it’s because she showed me real resilience and how to never give up no matter what you are going through. Even when you are doubted by all you can overcome it all.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Any scheme really as long as I’m on the field I feel like I can fit into any scheme and be a asset.

What should we know about CJ Tate the person?

I am outgoing and put my people that I love first. Really just people in general I try to spread good energy into this world. I enjoy learning from others as well in all aspects of life.

What stands out about your film the most?

How I go get the ball and make contested catches. I can make plays down the field at a high rate.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

God is the biggest piece to me in life I always go to God with all of my problems and know I am forever great through him. While also going through many trials and tribulations in life and seeing that if I keep going it will always get greater later.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A player that will bring it every single day and will also make improvements in any areas the team thinks I need to or need. I am a player that will never stop working to get better. I’ve always had to work for what I have so now it’s in me to work hard regardless of the circumstances.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

The competition to it and the physicality that comes with it. While also having to have 11 guys on the same page. It makes you have to come together as a team to become successful it also teaches life lessons!

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I would say Tay Martin. The combination of his routes and his ability to go high point the ball is different. I don’t think I’ve seen somebody really good at both and he also plays bigger than what he is.
