I saw both of my older brothers playing in 3rd and 5th grade and wanted to be like them.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I would like to impact the other players around me while playing at a high level.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would hang out with Luke Kuechly because I loved the physicality that he played with but also his knowledge of the game and opponents was unmatched.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

It would have to be all the relationships that football has brought me along with being able to play with my brother for 2 years in college.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

It would have to be my parents because they both have done so much for all of us kids and I strive to be as selfless and serving as them.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

I like the 4-3 scheme. Especially if you have athletic outside backers who can play the run as well as drop in coverage or cover TEs and RBs.

What should we know about Sam Phillips the person?

I’m going to bring the energy everyday and enjoy it while pouring into teammates just as much as my own craft.

What stands out about your film the most?

I would say my versatility and play making ability. My film shows that I can play up front and take in TEs and pulling offensive linemen while also being able to have fluid hips in coverage. My film study and knowledge of the game also allows me to make the plays that I do and take chances that more often than not work out.

How do handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I lean on my rock and solid foundation Jesus Christ. I know this life is temporary and any challenges I face I know that they don’t define me because my identity is found in Him!

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get a very coachable guy with a high ceiling as well as a guy who would bring the energy day in and day out and if given the opportunity a great leader.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I think it’s the toughest team sport there is and I love that challenge of getting 11 guys all on the same page and doing a job. I also the relationship aspect and how it brings guys from all walks of life together.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Justin Rankin. He was a running back that I played with in 2019 that was the perfect ratio of speed and strength and didn’t get to showcase his talents due to COVID in 2020.
