Hello Jonathan! Thanks for taking the time to speak with me. How are you doing? What are you up to these days? Please introduce yourself to our readers!

My name is Jonathan Rosery; born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Both my parents were born in the Caribbean on an island called St Lucia. I have been playing football for 12 years; first started playing for the Edmonton Mustangs as a Running Back. Then went on to play High School football as an SB, then went to the U of Alberta as an RB, and currently play SB for them.

What got you into football? & Why do you enjoy playing football?

I started playing football because I was tired of doing Track & Field. I tried to balance both at first but I enjoyed football much more, so I stuck with it. I enjoy playing football because of how fast the game moves and my teammates. The locker room camaraderie is a big reason that I really love football.

What are your goals as a football player and as an overall person?

My goals are to be remembered as someone that you could count on and someone that made people laugh before they think of me as a good football player. Those are the guys you remember and tell other people about. As a football player, my goal is to make a CFL roster, and if I go back for my last year I want to win a Hardy Cup with U of Alberta and become a First-Team All-Canadian.

How do you feel going into the CFL national combine?

I feel grateful because I know lots of people would want to be in my position but did not get the opportunity. I am excited to show everyone what I can do!

What was your best game last season? How did you feel after the game?

My best game last season was against U of Saskatchewan, I had great stats receiving and running the ball. However, I did not feel good because we lost the game.

What’s your typical fitness routine?

Wake up at 5 am for morning workouts. Do our run then hit our lift. Then get something good to eat.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Don’t have one sorry.

What would you tell a team during a draft interview?

I would tell them that I have the skills and the attitude necessary to be developed into an elite player in the CFL. I am a versatile player that can excel playing Receiver or RB

What would you tell aspiring football athletes?

To keep on playing even if you think you are not that good. I’ve seen guys I thought would go to the CFL when I was younger because they were so good yet fall off and guys that were bad at a younger age in the CFL right now. Never give up!
