Player Summary:
6th yr RS and 4 yr full-time starter at EDGE where he aligns in a 2 pt stance as well as in a 4i, 5T, 7T and Wide 9 in the 2-4-5 and 3-3-5 Nickel defense of AZUN. He possesses quality height with solid weight, average speed with excellent length and a lean, athletic build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of above-average balance, lateral quickness and agility with solid COD, average explosiveness and acceleration with average play speed. He is above average against the run. He exhibits average quickness off the ball and displays solid UOH in his placement and timing. He gets his hands inside and disengages against OT/TE with ordinary length and marginal physical toughness on base blocks or uses his solid lateral quickness to defeat the zone blocks from OT with subpar AA. He locates the RB and displays good instincts as he takes the correct angle in pursuit. His quality range enables him to play sideline to sideline and contain the outside run against RB/QB with average AA preventing a first down. Against the pass, he shows average get-off before executing a bullrush, rip, long-arm or spin move. Once he disengages, he shows solid closing speed as he hurries the QB with inadequate mobility or finishes with a sack. In coverage, he shows sufficient ability in man as he uses his average play speed to cover TE with ordinary AA in the flat and effectively reads the QB while defending the curl in zone. He is a high-motor player who consistently plays until the whistle. Solid mental toughness enables him to improve his play against the run and pass in the 2nd half of close games. Subpar hip and ankle flexion prevents him from bending well at the apex allowing OT who bends at the knee to negate his progress at the POA against the pass. His below-average counter ability combined with mediocre play strength prevents him from quickly disengaging from OT/TE with good grip strength and UOH. Struggles to consistently play at a good pad level which causes him to struggle against double-team blocks from OT and TE with solid foot drive.

Power Statement:
An intelligent, experienced player who is above-average against the run. Lack of quality play strength and flexibility limits his ability as a pass rusher.
