High School Football Coach Fired For Prayer Wins 1.7 million in settlement and his job back
Joseph Kennedy was fired for praying with his football players at midfield after games and he is now a winner in the courts. The Washington State high school football coach was fired and now will be given his job back.
According to reports, Kennedy will be reinstated by Bremerton School after they unanimously voted to accept the massive settlement.
Supreme Court’s split decision last June that Kennedy’s prayer group were protected by the First Amendment.
The school announced Kennedy will be an assistant coach this year.
“Mr. Kennedy will be an assistant football coach for Bremerton High School for the 2023 season,” the district said on its website, adding that it will pay his attorneys in interest-free installments over three fiscal years.
The school board approved the settlement on March 16.
