What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
My dad has 7 brothers and 5 of them played division 1 football so followed in their footsteps. Played many sports growing up but sticked with football as I continued to get older.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
Continue to play football as long as I can. Make a 53 man roster and being a major factor on a team.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Have to be Ray Lewis favorite linebacker. Loved the passion and emotion he brought to the game. Always inspired by his work on the field of leading and being violent.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
College Gameday against Oregon sacking Justin Herbert sold out stadium to turn the game around. Growing up playing kick return and running back some fun times.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad from him playing linebacker at Cal to passing on knowledge to me on how to play the game. Constantly giving constructive criticism on how to get better and elevate my game and always running 10 miles a day definitely keeps me inspired to be at my best daily.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
4-3 in which we played in last year. Also 3-3-5 nickel just feels it matches up with the offensive game we face today with RPOs and dual threat quarterbacks also faster wide receivers.
What should we know about Fa’Avae Fa’Avae the person?
A leader who brings the juice every day. Love the game of football and loves competing in everything I do. Everything I do I give it all I have.
What stands out about your film the most?
See that I’ve played defensive end, outside linebacker, will & mike and how versatile I can be. Relentless motor always near the ball on tape, able to re-direct well and great game speed.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Loved a quote I heard from my dad. “Pros let it go” and kind of lived by that. Having short term memory and making the next play. Only thing guaranteed in life and on the field is adversity so knowing that I know I will respond.
What would a team get in a player like you?
Someone who brings it everyday. Watches lots of film on how to get an advantage on my opponent. A relentless competitor and do anything to help the team win!
What do you love the most about the game of football?
Making plays in sold out stadiums is a feeling like none other. The relationships you build in the locker room makes you want to lay it all out there for your brothers and having the opportunity to be dominating an opponent for 60 mins.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
James Williams running back who I was with at WSU felt one of the best players I seen offensively the way he was a threat running and catching the ball was unreal.
