Who Won the TRADE? Chicago Bears Trade the First Overall Pick to the Panthers
The Chicago Bears might have just fleeced the Carolina Panthers. The Carolina Panthers just gave up D.J. Moore, the 9th pick in the NFL Draft, the 61st pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, a First Rounder in 2024, and a 2025 second-round pick for the first overall pick.
There are now rumors that the Carolina Panthers may be willing to trade out of the first overall pick they just acquired from the Bears. According to Joseph Person, if the Panthers like more than one quarterback they could trade down to recoup some draft picks.
Talks with the Bears picked up a couple of days ago and came to a head Friday because Panthers officials saw value in getting a deal done before free agency starts Monday.
Carolina ultimately wanted the top pick because it gave it the most options. Team officials have convictions on more than two of the top quarterbacks but haven’t become focused on one as they’re still early in the evaluation process.
