Walter Payton’s son Jarrett is annoyed by all the Justin Fields Trade Rumors
Will Justin Fields be traded before the NFL Draft?
The Chicago Bears have the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and the rumors are swirling hard that Justin Fields could be dealt before the draft or during the event because the team is not sold on him.
Well, Walter Payton’s son Jarrett is not happy with the all the rumors. A matter of fact he is annoyed by all the rumors swirling around.
“It annoys me. I’ll be honest with you. It really annoys me,” Jarrett Payton, son of Walter, said on Bernstein & Holmes on 670 The Score. “I’m a huge Justin Fields believer. This was before he came to Chicago. So I’ve been a fan and I’ve watched him since high school. He’s impressed me at every single level with what he’s been able to do.”
Has Justin Fields been given a true opportunity to showcase his skills? Jarrett Payton does not feel the young quarterback has been able to put together a true portfolio yet.
“I want to give this young man an opportunity to be successful,” Payton said. “But I also want to see him with what talent around him, and let’s evaluate him that way. Without the last two seasons of seeing what he’s had to do.
“And hopefully, things change a little bit because this whole narrative of him being this running quarterback is something that we weren’t accustomed to seeing in college. It had to happen because he had to put this team on his back.”
Imagine if the Bears traded down and landed more picks, then built the team around Fields. I personally like him more than Bryce Young. I may get crushed for it but I feel he can do everything Young can.
