Hello Isaiah! Thanks for taking the time to speak with me. How are you doing? What are you up to these days? Please introduce yourself to our readers!
Hello, my name is Isaiah Knight and I am from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am going into my third year at UBC playing Running Back. These days I am locked into the process of doing everything I can to make sure I come back better for this upcoming season.
What got you into football? & Why do you enjoy playing football?
My friend in elementary school saw how fast I was and said that I should try out for the city team. What keeps me playing is how honest the game is. The more work you put in the better results you will see in-game.
What are your goals as a football player and as an overall person?
My goal as a football player is to be the best Running Back in the NFL. My personal goal is to make sure my family stays close as I grow older.
How do you feel going into your 3rd year at UBC?
Going into my third year at UBC, I feel confident about how our team and I will perform this season. Getting to be in the same offense for a second year will make a major difference.
What was your best game last season? How did you feel after the game?
My best game last year was my second last game of the regular season against Saskatchewan where I had over 230 yards and 3 touchdowns. After that game, I felt like I have the capability to do that every in-game.
What’s your typical fitness routine?
My typical fitness routine in the offseason is lifting four days a week and on the field 5 days a week. I follow a strength program that our S&C coach Joe McCollum puts together.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
My favorite offensive scheme is inside zone because it allows me to be patient and gets me going downhill early.
What would you tell a team during a draft interview?
I would tell an NFL team looking to draft me that I will be the hardest worker and will put my all into helping the team win a Championship.
What would you tell aspiring football athletes?
I would tell aspiring athletes I’m going do what I said I was gonna do long after the mood I said it in has finished
