Navy disrespectfully fired their head coach minutes after losing to the Army | Fired in the Locker Room
Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo is the winningest coach in Navy Football history, but he was fired after losing in overtime to Army.
Ken Niumatalolo was fired in the locker room after the game. The AD Chet Gladchuk did not wait a day to fire the head coach. He was fired moments after the game in the locker room.
Niumatalolo was asked about the situation and he said the following to ESPN.
“First of all, we just got kicked in the gut. I was a little bit numb prior to him saying that, so most of it I couldn’t comprehend. I’m just like, ‘Chet, why don’t you take some time to relax.’ He said, ‘Well, it’s been building up,’” Niumatalolo explained to ESPN.
Niumatalolo was the winningest coach in Midshipmen football history, and he had some incredible seasons with the program. This is a sad ending to a very good coach. I hope he finds another coaching gig, because he is a very solid coach.
