Player Summary:
6th-year Senior starting at FS as a captain at ORST. Grant is a fierce competitor with good coverage skills and AA, and play speed to make up for his lacking size. Displays good height, poor weight, poor arm length, below-average hand size, with a thin lanky build, along with poor muscle and definition. Good AA displaying good lateral agility, explosiveness/burst, balance, and COD which all make up for his below-average foot speed. In the pass game, good ability to play split or MOF as he is good in Short/Deep zone, displaying good pedal from the snap, good footwork, and balance to crossover/transition or break with good fluidity and explosion to break on WRs at the top of their routes with very good closing speed. Displays good range, due to good instincts and recognition of route concepts along with good COD, then putting himself in a good position to locate and play through the ball. Good with the ball in the air due to very good effort, laying fully out to break up passes with his lanky frame. Good in Man Coverage as he displays disciplined eyes along with good footwork and break to stay in the hip of WRs. In the run game, he is a fierce competitor with good ability to close down once diagnosing the run. He displays good ability to disengage from blocks with quick hands, and good strike timing. Very good pursuit due to very good effort, flying all over the field and becoming a good last line of defense. Poor weight and size cause him to be an average tackler, as he leaves his feet diving for all tackles. Very good competitive toughness as he won’t back down from any task, flying all over the field while displaying great energy.
