Lions head coach compares finally winning to breaking out of prison | Amazing Quote
The Detroit Lions were favored to beat the Minnesota Vikings last week and they pulled it off beating the NFC North leading Vikings 34-23.
Dan Campbell was shocked he was the favorite over the Vikings, but liked the idea. Well, he was interviewed by Pat McAfee this week and he did not let us down, he compared finally winning to breaking out of prison.
“It’s a little bit like, not that I’ve ever been in prison, but you’re in prison and you’re plotting your escape and you know how it’s going to work. You got it all planned out, but you gotta have patience. There’s a certain time for everything to get to where it needs to be for you to make your break, and we made our break. And now, you gotta go through the sewer to get there and we’re going through the sewer, but you’re going to come out the other end and it’s going to be free and it’s going to be good and you know the life you’re going to live. That’s kind of where we got to. We’re not all the way there yet, but we stayed true to what we are and the guys never wavered,”
You have to love Dan Campbell the guy is a National Treasure who has the Lions fighting right now. The Lions were able to get Jameson Williams back last week and they have a 5-1 record over the last six games.
The Detroit Lions are hot, and it is one of the best turnarounds in NFL history. They started off the season 1-6 and are dominating right now. I guess it is kind of like an escape. Going from LIFE in prison to Freedom.
