Mississippi High School senior football player Travis Jones was shot and killed | Tonight’s Game cancelled
Travis Jones was a very solid football player for Lake High School in Mississippi. He had a bright future and was a starting defensive player who has racked up 20 tackles on the year.
The former Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Week was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, according to police reports.
Jones and Lake High were expected to take on Philadelphia High School tonight, but the games have been cancelled after the shooting death of Jones.
Jones was alone in his vehicle as far as authorities know, Thames said.
The shooting is under investigation and being handled by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
Please keep the family and friends in your prayer during this tough time.
