Player Summary:
2nd year starter for Pitt. Grad transfer from Maryland. He has good height and exceptional weight. Big build in the trenches. He is an adequate athlete who displays average agility with good lateral speed. His point of attack off the snap is good using average hands to pop his opponent although occasionally shows inability to maintain the block. Average play speed is shown when getting to the second level and in pulling situations. Average in run blocking situations executing a good hand punch yet fails to finish through his blocks. He shows below-average play speed when getting to the second level. If he manages to get to the second level, he can easily lock onto the linebacker although struggles against LBs with elite speed. Shows a failure to make consistent contact at the second level. Average strength is shown with okay leg drive in his block. He is an average pass protector. He sets up well on the snap and shows average awareness on his block. He keeps his feet constantly moving and shows a good punch with average timing. Sets up decently on the frame of his rusher and maintains an adequate ability to maintain his block. Against the bull rush, he displays a good ability to set his base and manipulate his opponents. His ability vs athletic rushers is good, showing the ability to execute good hand placement and using his lateral speed to position himself well in order to sufficiently lock on.
Scheme Fit
Pass heavy offense.
Power Statement
Pass protecting lineman who shows a quick get off and good lateral speed. Experience at other spots on the OL throughout his career allows opportunity to add depth across the OL at the next level.
