Tennessee Vols starting safety Jaylen McCollough was arrested for aggravated felony assault
Jaylen McCullough the starting safety for the Tennessee Vols football team was arrested on Sunday according to Knox County Sherrif’s Office.
This is a bad time for the four year starter to get in trouble. This week they play #1 Alabama who is 6-0. The Vols have a team that could shock people, but this is not going to help them.
Distractions keep coming up for the Vols.
The situation is a tough one because McCullough and his girl were inside their home when a drunk man came to their house and opened the door. He then proceeded to walk in and realize he was at the wrong home. That is when McCullough approached he man and began cursing at him to leave.
The drunk man was walking towards the stairs when McCullough reportedly hit the man in the face. The man fell backward down the stairs hitting his head. Police said when they arrived there was blood on the stairwell and McCullough had a bandage on his hand.
McCollough, 21, is tied for fourth on the team with 23 tackles. He had seven tackles in Tennessee’s 40-13 win over LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday.
