Player Summary:

SR and 1 yr full-time starter at RB in the zone/gap blocking scheme of OKUN. He transferred from TNUN prior to the 2021 season. He has ordinary height, solid weight and adequate speed with an athletic build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of very good COD, good balance, lateral quickness and agility, solid explosiveness, and average acceleration with average play speed. He shows good vision and decision making on zone runs as he finds the open hole as well as good patience on power runs as he waits for the block to be set up by the pulling OG. He shows good short area quickness to stop on a dime and change direction if need be. He shows solid burst through the hole as he hits the hole hard. He then uses his very good COD in the open field combined with good contact balance and physical toughness as he breaks tackles from LB and DB with subpar hip explosiveness, leverage and form tackling ability. He does a good job of finishing the run by falling forward for extra yardage. In the passing game, he runs mainly flat and swing routes and shows average hands as he makes the catch with his hands close to his body. Lack of quality play speed limits his playmaking ability both in the run and pass game. This is due to it preventing him from gaining significant yardage after the catch, turning the corner consistently on outside runs when there are LB/DB in his vicinity, and outrunning LB/DB with good AA when running up the middle in a straight line. In pass pro, he is ordinary due to his inconsistency. He locates the blitzing LB but struggles to consistently use his hands and play strength to maintain his block against LB with good AA and play strength.

Scheme Fit:

RB in a zone blocking scheme.

Power Statement:

Intelligent, powerful player who uses his very good combination of COD and contact balance to gain significant yardage. Lack of quality play speed prevents him from being more productive.
