Top Five NAIA Football Matchups for Week 3

Indiana Wesleyan University at Olivet Nazarene University

We have a battle between the Wildcats and the Tigers in this one. Leading the way offensively for Olivet Nazarene is junior wide receiver Brian Jenkins who had 127 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in the first game of the season. Defensively for the Wildcats they have junior defensive back Neil Campbell who had 11 tackles, 1 TFL and 1 sack in the first game. Indiana Wesleyan’s offense has junior wide receiver Markell Stephens-Peppers who had 113 receiving yards and 1 touchdown in the opening game against Valparaiso. Defensively for Olivet Nazarene they have sophomore defensive back Kyle Taylor who had 5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble in the first game of the season.

Ottawa University-Arizona at Texas Wesleyan University

This is a another very good matchup. Rams offensively have grad wide receiver Charlie Simmons III who had 252 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in 2021. Defensively for OUAZ they have senior linebacker Brandon Tomerlin Jr who has 14 tackles, 3.5 TFLs and 2 sacks in the first 2 games. The Spirit offense has grad running back Kristopher Ewens who has 187 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns this season. The Texas Wesleyan defense has junior defensive lineman Kobe Makel Adams who had 8.5 TFLs in 2021.

Concordia University(MI) at Roosevelt University

This is a test for Concordia on the road. Roosevelt’s offense has senior running back Ke’Von Johnson who had 139 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in the first game. Defensively for the Cardinals they have senior defensive back Gerald McHenry Jr who has 11 tackles and 2 interceptions thus season. The Concordia offense has redshirt senior wide receiver Donovan Johnson who has possessed 144 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in 2022. Zavier Barnes leads the Lakers defensively with 5 tackles this season to this point.

Faulkner University at Georgetown College(KY)

The Eagles against the Tigers. Georgetown’s offense has junior quarterback Drew Hartz who has thrown 7 touchdowns in 2022 so far. Defensively for the Eagles they have junior defensive back Elliott Shorter who has 10 tackles, 2 PBUs and 1 interception this season. The Faulkner offense has redshirt junior wide receiver TJ Hall who has 91 receiving yards and 1 touchdown through 2 games. Defensively for the Tigers they have senior defensive back Kyren Simpson who has 2 interceptions in 2022 so Dae.

Siena Heights University at Saint Xavier University

Another interesting matchup in a pretty good Saturday of NAIA matchups. The Cougars offense has senior wide receiver Justin Pringle who had 138 receiving yards and 1 touchdown against Saint Thomas. Defensively for the Saints they have redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Antonio Simley who had 4 tackles and 2 sacks in the first game. Eric Williams II redshirt junior wide receiver had 427 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns for Siena Heights in 2021. For the Saint Xavier defense they have senior linebacker Joey Markasovic who had 80 tackles and 6.5 TFLs in 2021.
