Former Iowa State football player Gregory Coleman Jr. died after being sucker punched at a bar
Gregory Coleman Jr. was a star football player in high school and would later take his talents to Iowa State and later Montana University. The 37-year-old former football player was a manager at a bar in Ohio when he was assaulted.
The former football standout was involved in an argument that turned into a fight. Coleman Jr. was sucker punched.
Graphic video of the assault taken by one of the bystanders shows Coleman falling backwards after being punched in the face, hitting his head on the pavement on North High Street. He was in a coma and on a ventilator until his death at the Ohio State University James Cancer Center Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
Both Dwayne Cummings, 28, and Chrystian Foster, 32, were arrested for the assault. Cummings was arrested and charged with murder and is currently being held in the Franklin County jail in lieu of a $1 million bond. Foster, is also facing attempted murder charges, because Coleman would later die from his injuries sustained on September 18th.
