Top FCS NCAA Football Matchups for Week 3

University of Delaware at University of Rhode Island 

Got the Blue Hens against the Rams in this one. The Rhode Island offense has redshirt senior wide receiver Ed Lee who has 222 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns this season so far. Defensively for the Blue Hens they have grad linebacker Johnny Buchanan who has 38 tackles and 2 TFLs in the 2022 season to this point. The Delaware offense has grad wide receiver Thyrick Pitts who has 117 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Redshirt sophomore defensive back Antonio Carter II has 12 tackles and 2 PBUs for the Rams defense this season.

Yale University at College of the Holy Cross 

After Holy Cross’s huge upset win at Buffalo they have their first home game of the season against Yale. The Crusaders offense is led by junior wide receiver Jalen Coker who has had 207 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in the current season so far. Defensively for Yale they have senior defensive back Wande Owens who had 47 tackles and 8 PBUs in 2021. The Bulldogs offense has senior running back Spencer Alston who had 446 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns in 2021. Senior linebacker Jacob Dobbs has 17 tackles and 1.5 TFLs in this current season for Holy Cross.

The Citadel at Mercer University 

Both of these teams are 1-1 in this one and Citadel is coming off of their huge win against ETSU. Mercer is led offensively by redshirt sophomore wide receiver Ty James who has 234 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in the first 2 games. The Bulldogs defense has junior linebacker Hasan Black who has 14 tackles, 2 TFLs and 1 sack in the 2022 season. Offensively The Citadel has sophomore wide receiver Tyler Cherry who has 72 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns this season so far. The Bears defense has sophomore linebacker Isaac Dowling who has 12 tackles, 2 TFLs and 1 forced fumble in 2022.

Furman University at East Tennessee State University 

This is a matchup with 2 very talented teams. The Buccaneers offense has senior running back Jacob Saylors who has 250 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns this season. Defensively for the Paladins they have redshirt junior defensive back Hugh Ryan who has 11 tackles and 1 PBU in 2022 to this point. Furman’s offense has fifth year tight end Ryan Miller who has 180 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns this season. The Buccaneers defense has redshirt freshman linebacker Chandler Martin who has 29 tackles, 2 TFLs and 1 sack in 2022 to this point.

North Carolina Central University at University of New Hampshire 

Eagles at the Wildcats in this one. New Hampshire’s offense has junior running back Dylan Laube who has held 265 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns in 2022 to this point. The Eagles defense has junior defensive back Khalil Baker who has had 10 tackles and 2 interceptions in this season so far. The North Carolina Central offense contains redshirt junior running back Latrell Collier who has 130 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in 2022 at this point and time. Defensively for the Wildcats they have grad defensive back Pop Bush who has 10 tackles, 1 TFL and 1 PBU so far this season.
