Cumberland football player Jamir Johnson is being charged with vehicular homicide in crash that killed his teammate Marcus Webb
This is such a tragic situation. It reminds me of the Josh Brent situation that happened in the NFL a few years back. Jamir Johnson and four of his teammates were in a Dodge Charger when it ran off the road and hit a tree on September 5th.
The accident claimed the life of his teammate Marcus Webb, who was a passenger in the front seat. The others in the car were Brandon Pace Jr. who remains in critical condition, Jeremiah Matthews, and Lamar Childress. All the men in the car were players for Cumberland or former players.
Police believe that speed was a factor and they did find an open bottle of alcohol in the car.
Jamir Johnson, 24, of Perry, Georgia, is facing a vehicular homicide charge and three counts of vehicular assault in connection with the deadly Labor Day crash.
Please pray for the families involved in the crash during this tough time.
