Family of football player Tyre Sampson who died at Florida Theme Park to honor him today on his 15th birthday
Tyre Sampson should still be here with us. The massive teenage football player who was visiting Orlando with family died after he slipped out of an amusement park ride and fell 75 plus feet to his death.
Today, at ICON Park in Orlando, the family of Sampson will be present to release balloons honoring their son and to stay in the media while the investigation continues.
The teen’s father, Yarnell Sampson, and Attorney Ben Crump are expected to hold a news conference at 11:45 a.m. Afterwards, the family plans to hold a balloon release in the teen’s honor.
If you do not remember, Sampson at the time a 14-year-old massive football player weighing 380 plus pounds fell from the 430-foot drop tower attraction in Orlando, dying from his injuries.
An autopsy conducted by the Orange County Medical Examiner concluded that the boy’s cause of death was the result of blunt force trauma and the manner of death was “accident.”
Also revealed was Tyre was almost 100 pounds over the ride’s weight limit. Initial state findings determined that the operator of the ride made “manual adjustments” to the ride’s harness proximity sensor on two of the seats, including the one Tyre Sampson was in, which falsely showed that he was secured in his seat and that the ride was safe to operate.
While the family is trying to honor their son today, please keep them in your prayers. This is such a sad incident. It should have never happened. The family still would like ICON park to remove the ride, but that still has not happened. Rest in Peace Tyre.
