Breaking: Buffalo Bills are hosting Four Punters today
One day after releasing Matt Araiza amid rape allegations, the Buffalo Bills are scheduled to bring in several punters for a workout over the next two days, according to Mike Garofolo.
Well, we are learning that the Buffalo Bills will be hosting P Ty Long for a workout today. Long recently played for three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, and had a workout last week with the Colts.
Long is an accurate kicker as well. He holds records for career field goals as well as the longest field goal in school history.
In 2015, Ty Long signed with the Redskins and was waived after the preseason. He would then sign a futures deal with the Steelers before getting released as well.
Long would take his talents to the CFL to play for the BC Lions and dominate before getting a shot in the NFL with the Chargers.
He would take over kicking and punting duties when Michael Badgley suffered an injury. Long would go on to have several great seasons for the Bolts.
In the NFL he averaged 47.2 a punt, and was 7 of 9 with a 51 yard field goal as his long.
In the CFL he was 82 of 93 on field goal attemps and averaged 48.3 on 236 career punts.
Long is a 29 year old punter with tons of accuracy. He was one of the more accurate kickers in the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Bills are going to have several players in for a visit, and if we find out more we will be reporting as well.
