This weekend a fight erupted at a Youth Football Game and it could have easily been prevented. It is never this serious. A fight broke out between Aqib Talib’s brother Yaqub Talib and youth football Dragons coach Mike Hickmon.
Dragons president Mike Freeman said the dispute began when Hickmon went to pick up a football and someone kicked it away. Hickmon was shot and killed in front of his own son, who played on the team.
“I don’t know how to explain it to the kids. That’s the part that I’m stuck on right now. How do I explain it to them. Why?” Freeman said. “This is something that these kids will remember for the rest of their life.”
Former NFL star Aqib Talib was present during the entire situation and his attorney released this statement.
“Aqib was present when this unfortunate incident occurred and is very distraught and devastated over this terrible loss of life. He would like to convey his condolences to the family of the victim and to everyone who witnessed this unfortunate tragedy.”
The wild thing is Talib’s brother still has not turned himself in to authorities. Well, TMZ Sports is reporting that Yaqub will turn himself in within the hour.
