Five NFL Trades We Would Like to See before Week 1
The first week of preseason is in the books, and there are several players who could still be dealt before the beginning of the season. There are always trades before the start of the season and there are always some shocking moves. Let’s look at five trades we would like to see before the start of the season.
Dolphins trade WR Preston Williams to the Bears for a late round pick– The Chicago Bears finally land a wide receiver. They have had some bad luck this year at the position and need to get Justin Fields some targets. Preston Williams is unhappy in Miami and even tweeted out his unhappiness. He returned to the Dolphins hoping to get playing time, but that is not looking like it will come to fruition. Preston Williams can be a great pick up for a late round pick. Fields gets a great wide out that can go opposite of Mooney. The 6’5, 225 pound wide receiver becomes an instant red zone threat for opposing defenses. Williams has 787 yards receiving and 7 touchdowns in just 17 games started.
Jimmy Garoppolo to the Browns for Kareem Hunt and a mid round pick – The Browns need a quarterback if Deshaun Watson’s suspension is going to go longer than 8 games. We continue to hear the NFL wants a year long suspension and a huge fine. The Browns will be looking to add a quarterback if that happens, and let’s face it the Browns have the most space. They also have a disgruntled running back who wants a new contract. The Niners Eli Mitchell is banged up right now and they could use an insurance policy. Hunt to the Niners makes sense.
Jaguars trade WR Laviska Shenault to the Panthers for a late round pick – Laviska Shenault is an athletic and big wide receiver and the Panthers need to get Baker and Sam some weapons. Adding a young wide out like Shenault is a huge upgrade. The Panthers would have a pretty awesome rotation with DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Terrace Marshall Jr., and Rashard Higgins.
Seattle Seahawks trade a late round pick for QB Mason Rudolph – The 27-year-old gunslinger spent time backing up Big Ben and now he is falling down the depth chart. In that span he went 5-4-1 as a starter while completing 61.5 percent of his passes for 2,366 yards and 16 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. The Seahawks need a quarterback and I feel Mason Rudolph is better than Drew Lock.
Denver Broncos trade OL Dalton Risner to the Patriots for a mid round pick – Risner is not the starter right now in Denver, but with the Patriots always looking for interior lineman, I would not be shocked to see the Patriots are kicking the tires
