Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza is one of several people named in a lawsuit for gang-raping a 17-year-old female
The Buffalo Bills just named Matt Araiza the rookie punter as the starting punter by releasing veteran punter Matt Haack. Well, Matt Araiza is now facing some heat after his name was brought up in a gang-rape civil lawsuit.
A civil lawsuit filed Thursday in state court accuses three past and present San Diego State University football players including Punt God Matt Araiza of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl last year at an off-campus party.
Matt Araiza, 22, whose big time punts earned him the nickname “Punt God,” was accused of having sex with the minor outside the home and then bringing her inside to a room where she was repeatedly raped.
The case is pretty wild, but the other two students named in the case were Nowlin Pa’a Ewaliko, and Zavier Leonard.
You can read more about the case here in this exclusice Los Angeles Times report. This is very similar to the Deshaun Watson case. Both were named in a civil case, and no criminal charges were filed. Watson was recently suspended for 11 games and fined 5 million dollars.
This is not good for the Bills, and could force them to sign another punter
