Kayvon Thibodeaux Injury Update: Rookie claims his knee is good, will still undergo further testing on Monday

As Kayvon Thibodeaux laid on the field in pain, everyone was holding their breath. The first round pick of the New York Giants was chopped down by Thaddeus Moss of the Cincinnati Bengals and he looked to be in pain.

Well, on his way walking off the field, the rookie Thibodeaux told Jordan Raanan of ESPN, “I’m Good…. We’re Good. Good News”

You can see the tweet below from ESPN‘s Raanan.

Brian Daboll was worried about Kayvon Thibodeaux’s injury

Even though Thibodeaux feels good, head coach Brian Daboll said Thibodeaux will undergo more medical testing Monday.

“They’ll be doing tests, MRIs and stuff like that and get a better feel for it in morning,” Daboll said. “You hope not. Don’t have an answer for that yet.”

A cart was going to come out to pick up the rookie and waved off the cart, and limped off the field on his own.

Daboll admits he was nervous when the injury happened.

“I think it’s a scare any time. These players work as hard as they can possibly work to try to do as well as they can, and any time you see someone on the turf, regardless of how they got here, it’s always hard as a coach to watch a guy go down.”

Thibodeaux played college football at Oregon, where was named the Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2019, won the Morris Trophy in 2020, and was voted a unanimous All-American in 2021. He was drafted by the Giants fifth overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Hopefully the rookie will be ready for week 1! We are happy that Kayvon Thibodeaux’s injury was not as serious as many believed it to be!
