Player Summary

6th yr SR and 3 yr fulltime starter at LG in the zone/gap blocking scheme of LATC. He has poor height and weight with very good speed and an athletic build. He is a good athlete with good explosiveness, acceleration, quickness and agility with solid COD, adequate balance and good play speed. While zone blocking, he fires out low, takes a quick first step, delivers a well-timed punch to the 3T or 1T with good power as he rolls his hips on contact. Generates movement at the POA against IDL with adequate size and play speed with his solid play strength and foot drive showing good physical toughness as he finishes the block to the ground for a pancake on outside zone runs. On power runs, he uses his good AA and play speed to pull through the hole and easily overpowers ILB with adequate size and play strength with his above average technique and physicality. In pass pro, he plays with a good, wide base, keeps his feet moving showing good flexibility as he bends at the knee. He displays good UOH striking the frame of his man with good placement and timing winning battles with his hands inside against DT with solid size, AA and subpar UOH while effectively using his leverage and play strength to anchor. Displays solid reactive athleticism as he picks up twists from 5T and 1T with subpar lateral quickness and agility twisting towards the B gap. He exhibits good competitiveness as he plays to the whistle consistently. Lack of elite length and play strength enables IDL with quality size, length and active hands to defeat his block in the run game and pass pro. When reaching at the second level, adequate balance allows OLB with quality AA to evade or shed his block when he is unable to keep his weight over his toes.

Scheme Fit

G in Gap or Zone scheme due to his above average athleticism, physical toughness and technique.

Power Statement

Tough, athletic player who shows quality ability overall as a run blocker and in pass pro. Compensates for his poor size with his good technique.
