Player Summary:
Jeffery lines up primarily as an NT and 3-Tech in a 3-4 defense. A 4-year starter while at Tulane. Transferred to Oklahoma for his final year. He has poor height, average weight, and poor arm length. He has a strong upper body and good hand usage to wall off and beat linemen 1 on 1. Struggles taking on more than one blocker due to below-average lower body strength and poor contact balance. Below-average athleticism. In the run game, he is a good run stuffer when taking on only one blocker. He has good strength and good hand usage to beat the single lineman and get to RB. Below average when two are gapping and taking on multiple blockers. Gets pushed out of the way or to the ground fairly easily, and below average agility and lateral movement skills. In pass defense, he doesn’t offer much. Can occasionally beat a guy 1 on 1 and get to the QB, but overall lacks the athleticism to consistently get to the QB from the interior.
Scheme Fit:
Best suited as a 3-tech in a 4-3 defense.
Power Statement:
Jeffery is a true 2-down DT with a strong upper body and good hands, but offers very little when rushing the passer.
