Jack Dawson a punter at Jacksonville State has turned himself into authorities and has been arrested for some really wild allegations.

Dawson, a former member of the Troy University football team, currently a punter on the Jacksonville State football team, turned himself in to authorities in Troy and was released on a signature bond shortly after.

According to USA Today, Dawson, who was served a summons July 29 at the Jacksonville State football practice field, is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 5.

The first warrant, dated to October 2020, alleges that Dawson forcibly sodomized his teammate with a pool cue as he was lying on the floor at the Davis Field House, causing bleeding and bruising.

The second warrant, dated to November 2020, alleges that Dawson picked up the same teammate, carried him outside and dropped him onto the pool deck of an off-campus residence, resulting in a large bruise on the player’s right side.

The third warrant references an off-campus fight in December 2020 in which Dawson allegedly broke his teammate’s nose by punching him in the face seven times.

Troy University has denied all allegations outlined in the federal complaint and said it will “vigorously defend itself in court.”

Until Dawson’s arrest this week, the warrants against Dawson had gone unserved for months. Dawson’s attorney, Mary-Ellen Bates, claimed Friday that neither Dawson nor Jacksonville State University knew about the warrants against the Australian-born player.

These are very serious allegations. If true, Dawson could spend some time in jail for his actions.
