FAMU put up a fight minus 25 players against UNC | The Rattlers are tough

The FAMU Rattlers put a fight this past weekend. Many thought they would just lay down after news broke that they were without 25 of their players in their first game of the regular season. They had to play with only seven available offensive linemen, and they held their own.

They lost 56-24, but it was a pretty good game to be honest when you consider they were without Buck Buchanan Award winner Isaiah Land who was the best FCS pass rusher in all of football last year.

Quarterback Jeremy Moussa was 28-of-38 for 279 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception and kept the Rattlers close in the first half before the depth and skill of the Tar Heels took over in the second.

UNC Drake Maye had a remarkable Freshman debut, going 29-of-37 for 294 yards and five touchdowns, spreading the ball around to a deep crop of Tar Heels receivers.  UNC dominated FAMU on the ground.

JEREMY MOUSSA did a wonderful job with the lack of depth. He was able to spread the ball around and move the ball against a UNC defense with some solid prospects in their secondary, most notably Storm Duck.

FAMU had their moments of giving the Tarheels a run for their money in the 3rd quarter when the score was 35-24. But UNC just prevailed against the Rattlers by sticking to the run game with Omarion Hampton and Elijah Green.

FAMU did very well without 25 of their players being ineligible for that game. Hopefully that gets straightened out against Orange Blossom Rival Jackson State come next Sunday.
