What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
My dad, he was a big influence on me, he played at the University of Penn and he started coaching me in middle school and I fell in love with the game.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Back in high school making the semifinals back to back years for the first time in school history and winning the conference at Holy Cross my sophomore year.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My Dad, he’s the hardest working man I know and he has been one of the biggest influences on me in football and has taught me alot. I definitely look up to him.
What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?
I’m not the biggest and most emotional player on the field but I’ll bring my own type of energy after a big play and try to feed off my teammates.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Ed Reed, he’s my favorite safety and before every game I watch his film and he was definitely a legend. I really like watching him alot.
What are your favorite things about playing football for Butler?
They have a loyal fan base always out tailgating and another reason why it’s great playing for Butler’s program is because of my teammates. Despite coming in as a transfer my junior year, I immediately felt welcome to the program and can proudly say I’ve made some lifelong friends. And that’s what makes it the best about playing for Butler.
What should we know about Connor Reid the person?
I’m a very hard worker, very disciplined, very motivated, always willing to do what it takes for the team.
What is your favorite coverage and why?
Cover 4, I think I am able to guard my man one on one and be free to play the run also.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I seek help from teammates or coaches or anyone who I feel like could help me overcome it.
What would a team get in a player like you?
Definitely getting a very hard worker and versatile player who can play both safety positions and potentially outside linebacker.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
With this new coaching staff I’m super excited and having a redemption type season and proving people in our conference wrong about us.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Mac Menard, he’s one of our outside linebackers and this year he has an extended role and I believe he has what it takes to have a great season.
