What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I’ve been playing football since 7 years old and I was very passionate about it at a young age and I knew God blessed me with talent and ability so I want to take these tools as far as I can and be able to provide for my family through football.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Just getting over the hump in high school making it to the playoffs and being able to play with all my childhood friends was very memorable for me.

What sets you apart from other wide receivers?

Honestly the Lord blessed me with the ability to catch the ball and I feel I have some of the best hands and that’s what sets me apart from everybody else. Making difficult catches

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I’m more of a silent, calm, cool, collected guy and let my play speak but I do like to encourage and provide uplifting energy for those around me in any way possible.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Randy Moss, just because I always looked up to him growing up and he was my favorite player and today he’s my favorite wide receiver!

How do you prepare for games?

On a traditional game-day, I usually wake up and pray and then I would read my bible, hang out with friends and call my family an hour before the game. Grab a quick bite to eat then mentally prepare for my opponent.

What should we know about O’Vauntay Vickers the person?

I have a strong relationship with God, I’m always looking out for others and I’m a hardworking person I try to motivate others and act as motivation, “if I can do it then you can do it .”

What is your favorite route and why?

While I enjoy running the entire route tree, I enjoy red-zone opportunities where I can win one on one with fade balls.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I would say just seeking support from people close to me and keeping faith in God and try to just keep everything positive and block out the negative energy.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Very hardworking individual, a leader as well as someone who is going to go out there and leave it all on the field.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Really just being able to put it all together with my teammates there’s alot of games I’m looking forward to and just seeing where all my hard offseason work goes. As well as the growth as a collective team.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Santrelle Watts, a tremendous player and leader and one of the best people I’ve got to be around on and off the field. On a college level at Judson I feel like there’s alot of underrated players and we are going to put it together this season and shock the NAIA. Everybody at every position can ball out, top to bottom!
