Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?
I’ve really stressed the importance of academics during my time in college. I just graduated with a degree in Business Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship. I graduated within the top 10% of our class. I’m a member of Sigma Beta Delta which is a Business Honors Society. My internship was with Meador Supply Company where I assisted as an inventory specialist.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?
My work ethic. I come onto the field and film room with my best foot forward. I try to get better each and every day.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?
I’ve been a team captain for 3 years. I lead by example, being someone that others look up to and want to play for. I’ve been part of many different schemes throughout college although we tend to play a lot of 4-2-5 with a hybrid LB/S. We have a lot of emphasis around our LBs, taking up double teams, shooting gaps, being fairly aggressive and blitzing a lot. I have mainly played MLB, having only a few reps on the outside. I have the ability to play sideline to sideline and trust from our coaches to make calls as I see them. I’ve contributed a decent amount on special teams since being a freshman. I’ve played on almost all units with success. I even had a blocked punt back in 2019.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
I’ve played against Shepherd QB Tyson Bagent twice. He’s one of the best I’ve ever played against. He’s very effective and hard to game plan against.

Tyreik McAllister was a dangerously fast RB for Charleston. He was tough to tackle in open space and always found ways to score.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?
Going back a few years, I had the privilege of having Jahleel McLaughlin as a teammate and roommate. He has a God-gifted talent and extreme work ethic. He moved well in space and had the ability to break tackles.

Guam Lee was a LB on our defense who was a great leader and ball player. He was able to flip the switch and produce on game day.

Brandon Nicholson was an offensive tackle that moved very well for his size. Whenever he got his hands on you, you were done.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.
The Covid year in 2020 was a huge deal for everyone. For me, not only did I have to deal with the fall season being canceled, but my grandfather had stage 4 cancer and passed away in May of 2020. That was very tough to deal with and an emotional time for my family. There were times when I thought that I might hang up the cleats and just focus on school work. Yet, I know that my grandfather would have wanted me to stick things out with football. I’m glad I had people like my family and future fiancée in my corner that helped me stay focused on my goals and pushed me to be a good player. Playing football last season helped me understand how fortunate I am to play the game, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?
Probably basketball. I was a 4-year starter in high school, making all-conference and team MVP. I enjoy playing pickup games when I have time.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?
I’m most proud of being an Academic All-American. I’ve always stressed the importance of school, and balancing football and classwork hasn’t been easy. My biggest achievement as a football player is winning 4 straight conference championships.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.
My sophomore year we were playing at West Liberty. They were on the 3-yard line, 3rd and short with our backs against the goal line. I shot through the B gap making a crucial tackle that held them to a FG.

During Spring of 2021, we were playing against Frostburg State. As the game was winding down, they had a 3rd and long, and I could feel the drag route behind me. The QB threw the ball, and I was able to get the PBU, knocking the ball out of bounds. That forced them to punt. We ended up winning that game with a pick on a Hail Mary pass.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?
Being from Ohio, I’ve always been a Browns fan. Some of the players that I like to model after are Luke Kuechly and Bobby Wagner. Kuechly knew where every play was going which showed how much time he spent studying game film. Wagner is a tank and a physical downhill linebacker who’s a great run defender.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?
I listen to a lot of different genres. Before games I enjoy listening to guys like Lil Baby and NBA YoungBoy.

What is your favorite comfort food?
You can’t go wrong with a steak and baked potato from Texas Roadhouse.

Do you have a favorite movie, TV show or actor?
I really enjoy all the Marvel Movies. Black Panther is one of my favorites.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?
I like hanging out with my family, friends and fiancee. I like playing video games and watching movies.

Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?
I play because I love it and can’t picture life without it. Through football, I have built great life-long relationships with teammates and coaches. Ever since I started playing football at 6 years old, it has taught me many life lessons that have molded me into the person and player that I am.

My family and fiancée are who truly motivate me. They have always been in my corner and pushed me to follow my dreams. I try to be the best version of myself in hopes that one day I will be able to support my family and give back to them.
