Panthers rookie quarterback Matt Corral admits he took the easy way out by going to Ole Miss
Carolina Panthers quarterback Matt Corral was talking to the media yesterday and he admitted to taking the easy way out when going to Ole Miss.
Corral originally committed to USC Trojans and then he committed to Florida. He ultimately chose Ole Miss, and he was asked about choosing Ole Miss.
Corral was honest, but this is likely a reason he dropped in the NFL Draft.
“I took the easy way out because I felt I could play right away,” Corral said of his decision to go to Ole Miss, via the Charlotte Observer. “Knowing what I know now and trusting my instincts and trusting my work ethic, I would have went to a place that would have made me compete.”
Now, Corral is going to be competing with Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and PJ Walker for reps in Carolina. If he is afraid of competition he may have to wait a long time before seeing the field.
Corral was easily one of the best players in the draft at his position, but this is a little concerning. I am shocked he said it, but I do respect him for being truthful.
