Semi-Pro quarterback Marquise Manns Jr. was killed in a hit and run in Lansing, Michigan
Marquise Manns Jr. loved football and dreamed of playing in the NFL. Manns was killed just before 4 a.m on July 3rd in Lansing, Michigan. According to reports, police say Manns was intentionally struck by a vehicle before the drive fled the scene.
Witnesses at the scene say the man who ran him over was involved in an argument with the quarterback prior to the incident.
Andrew Coleman, a 32 year old was charged with murder in the connection of Manns’ death.
Police tracked Coleman down with dogs. Coleman was found a short distance from where he killed Manns.
Manns Jr. leaves behind his three year old daughter. The Lansing Crusaders football team posted this about their quarterback.
“Our Lansing Crusaders family want to take the time to send condolences & prayers to our brother who lost his life this morning #5 QB Django Marquise Manns we will miss you brother you always made us laugh had a great spirit prayers for his family,” the team posted on Facebook.
A GoFundMe Page has been created for Manns’ daugther. The post was made by Marquise’s sister MarQuisja, and states:
This fundraiser will be used for the final arrangements for Marquise Levell Manns II and providing a foundation for his surviving daughter, Morgan that’s 3 years old. I know that the economy is worrisome to everyone at this particular time and I do understand. However, a 3 year old little girl has been left without her ‘daddy’ and anything you do to help us, will be greatly appreciated!
