What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

When I was a kid my first sport was basketball and at the time I lived in Louisville, Kentucky and my dad introduced me to football.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

One of my favorite moments is when I was a kid and actually got to play and made a tackle. When I was at Indianapolis Howe and we needed a touchdown and my coach practiced a throw it to the crossbar and goalpost to the receivers play and it worked and that shows you can be successful if you put work in.

What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

What makes me different is my versatility as I can come up and set the edge and I can make plays in the secondary.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I try to bring the leader type energy, but I also like to have fun and bring the juice to both sides of the field not just defense.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Deion Sanders, because he was like the Jordan of football and he brought so much energy to the game and he also showed alot of respect at this level. He also encouraged people to be themselves.

What is a moment that improved you as a football player?

Coming to Indiana Wesleyan University has changed me especially my 2nd season which was the 2nd year of the program and first in the conference and I believe in what the coaches do in the program.

What should we know about Justin Johnson the person?

I’m a very caring person for the ones around me and I’m very determined at anything that I do and I’m also a laid-back, chill person.

What is your favorite coverage and why?

Man, it’s just something that the program has helped me fall in love with. I’m a very physical corner and I like to be hands on.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I like to take it to God and also put in work.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get a leader, a hard worker, a coachable player and a playmaker.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Running it back to conference champions and being able to play for a national championship. And bringing more teammates with me to get All American honors.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Dontea Henderson, because he was really average size and when looking at him you wouldn’t think he would do these things he could. He never got the recognition he deserved. He was the definition of a dog.
