Colin Kaepernick is no longer investing in Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league

The other day, my son was sitting on the couch and watching the BIG3, he said to me Dad, these guys struggle to make baskets why do they play in this league. My son also did not realize that Cuttino Mobley and many of the other stars were very good basketball players in the NBA at one point of their careers.

Well, while my son may not like the idea of the BIG3, Colin Kaepernick does.

According to reports, Colin Kaepernick is going to invest into the league created by Ice Cube.

On Wednesday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Kaepernick is investing in the BIG3 basketball league, which Charania said was close to shutting down.

According to the report from Shams, the league was struggling, and while we do not know how much was given from Kaepernick, maybe it will help them stay afloat.

The BIG3 is a 3-on-3 basketball league founded in 2017 by Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz. The league’s 12 teams feature former NBA players and international players. Some current players include Jason Richardson, Nick Young and Joe Johnson.

Many have criticized Kaepernick for not helping the black community. There have been many football players on record saying they do not see what he is doing with his money. Well, according to this report, he is trying to save a league that was created by Cube, so that is a positive thing.

UPDATE:

Kaepernick is not going to be investing in the BIG3 anymore. According to TMZ Sports, the story is not true and Kaepernick is not working with the BIG3.
