Ainias Smith, one of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft was arrested around 2:15 am on Wednesday near the school campus. According to the reports, Smith was speeding when police pulled him over. Cops say Smith showed signs of intoxication and arrested.
According to the police, police found a hand gun and marijuana in the vehicle.
Records show Smith was booked into Brazos County jail. The charges were unlawful carrying of a weapon, driving while intoxicated, and possession of marijuana.
After a field sobriety test, officers found a loaded pistol and a single rolled joint in Smith’s vehicle.
Smith was expected to appear on behalf of the team at SEC Media Days in Atlanta this Thursday. Online records showed he had not yet posted bond on Wednesday morning.
Smith is one of the most electrifying players in the entire NFL Draft next year. He is a playmaker who can do it all on the field. This is a big mistake for the young man, but I am sure he will rebound quickly from this mishap. He is lucky he did not injure anyone during this horrible decision.
I had the pleasure to sit down with the young and electric player last year and he seems like a hungry kid. I am hoping he can rebound quickly.
Since 2019, Smith has piled up 1,321 receiving yards, 373 rushing yards and 19 total TDs for the Aggies.
