What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I think I’m just an upbeat positive teammate that is going to bring guys along towards a common goal that is our team winning.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Going to the National Championship, another one of my favorite moments was getting the opportunity to walk on to Montana State and being put on scholarship in 2019.

What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

First and foremost my versatility I have played safety, nickel and cornerback at Montana State and so I am a true defensive back and I am a sure tackler who has good instinctiveness. Through playing all the positions I have the ability to play inside the box, outside the box, blitz off the edge, and the ability to play in coverage as well as post.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

I think some keys to success as a defensive player is understanding what you are trying to accomplish as a defense and knowing the offensive tendencies and using that to determine what you think the offense will run which will give you the upper hand in being able to defend that.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Harrison Smith, because he is someone I try to model my game after, I love his approach as a defensive back and I would love to understand how he thinks and operates as a defensive back.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I loved the physicality and competitiveness of the game.

What should we know about Ty Okada the person?

He’s someone who is very hardworking, very competitive and someone who is continually striving to become the best version of myself everyday.

What is your favorite coverage and why?

Man to man coverage, because it’s you against the other person and it’s up to you to go win it.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

How I face challenges is head on and that’s the only way you are ever going to overcome them.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get someone that is extremely versatile, athletic, knowledgeable about the game of football, who has a chip on their shoulder which helps fuel and drive them to be the best each and everyday.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’m looking forward to our team getting back to the national championship but this time winning it.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits which 5 traits would be up there?

Dedicated, committed, consistent, tough, and persistent.
