What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

When I first stepped on the football field it was just something that I loved doing.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My senior year of high school third week into the season I won student of the week and also my senior year I signed up to play at Hutchinson CC and just being at Tennessee State.

What sets you apart from other offensive linemen?

The way I play being dominant and playing nasty and being able to read my opponent and what they can throw at us. Just studying film a lot and knowing my assignment.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring enthusiasm and be the hype man and bring my physicality.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

DJ Fluker, when I was growing up and watching him, he was just straight dominant and he is one of my favorite offensive linemen and I would love to learn from him and hang out with him. Just to pick his brain and see the things I can get to become a better player.

How do you prepare for games?

First throw on my headphones and before I get suited up I walk the field and then go over the game plan again and before we go out onto the field I get the team hyped.

What should we know about Robert Lacey the person?

I’m a genuine person, and the way I play on the field is the opposite of who I am as a person, love playing games, love working out and love watching movies and I’m a big batman fan.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Inside package, just for the fact I love being dirty and love to run.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Both in life and on the field if you mess up you just have to keep on, going on and keep you head up and keep grinding and move onto the next play and don’t sit there and cry about what you messed up.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A hard worker, a person going to down and willing to learn new things and someone who will put his a** on the line, genuine person and a leader.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Just this last ride with my teammates and bond and hopefully win games and the conference or get to the playoffs and teach the guys under me what they need to do and get All Conference and All American.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Cam Wyche, because he’s a person that comes in no complaining, does his job, hard worker, genuine person and one of the best offensive players on the team.
