What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I started watching the game of football at the age of 6 or 7. I used to play on the playground at school during recess and it was almost like a dream to become a football player. The dream came true for me at the age of 8 years old and I have been playing ever since.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
My favorite moments include beating teams that I thought were unbeatable in my rec football league. These teams included Due West and Acworth. In high school my favorite moment was going to the playoffs for the first time in my career my senior year and making history. My favorite collegiate moment has been starting all 11 games as a true freshman.
What sets you apart from other offensive linemen?
Because of my size, I am extremely athletic, I have good feet. I am able to get to the second level very easily and make plays in open space. I like to be in open space because I can use my speed and make difficult blocks.
What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?
A lot of positive and uplifting energy. I want to uplift all my teammates around me and hold everyone accountable. I love to have fun while playing because after all this is a child’s game and we are blessed to play it every time we step on the field.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
I would hang out with Trent Williams. He is the best offensive lineman we have seen for a decade and he is still truly dominate. I would just love to learn from him and understand his mindset and what allows him to be so dominant.
How do you prepare for games?
Study a lot of film of the defensive line. Study my opponents on which moves they use. Study how they pass rush. I study a lot of game film and throughout the week I will come to practice and ask questions and put myself in the best position to consistently dominate. The week is hard and strenuous which is what makes game day easy.
What should we know about Nehemiah Bing the person?
First and foremost, I am a child of God. I love the Lord with all my mind, body, heart and soul. Knowing this makes my life easier. Through him I have developed a passion and love for helping people in any way, shape or form. In anything I do, I give God all the glory and honor because without him I am nothing.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
Zone is my favorite offensive scheme. I love zone blocking with double teams and outside zone because I love getting to the second level. I also love screens and getting out in space.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I was raised to have a strong prayer life and rely on my faith and trust God in any tough situation I may endure or be facing. At the end of the day the minor pain or challenge that I may go through can never compare to the joy that is coming. I was also taught to never give up, always keep going. No matter how many times I fall down to get up and dust myself off and to keep going.
What would a team get in a player like you?
Any team is getting a hard worker. Someone who loves the game of football and is willing to put in the work consistently to prove it. I am a leader but mainly by example. I am willing to do anything in order to help my team overcome any obstacle or difficulty we may be facing. This is on and off the field.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I am looking forward to winning games and playing for a winning program. I believe we at Tiffin have all the talent to go 10-0 and make the playoffs. This will be a true blessing for me and I know it will happen with God’s help.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
The most underrated player I ever played with is any offensive lineman. Anybody who has played beside me is underrated because nobody truly cares about the work we put in. Our job is to protect the quarterback and open holes for the running back. To play this position you have to be truly selfless and care more about the success of the team. No stats, no awards, just doing our job day in and day out.
