What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Football was something that came easy to me since I was 5, and something that felt right for me since I started.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Definitely Darius Leonard, he’s someone I always watch film of and he seems like a very energetic and cool dude.
What sets you apart from other linebackers?
I’d say my athleticism, length and versatility. I’m confident I can play and excel at almost any defensive position on the football field.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
That’s a hard question cause I think there’s a lot of kids I’ve played with and currently do play with that have been and are extremely underrated. But I’d have to say Ralphy Lozada, who plays inside linebacker for us. He’s someone I played in high school with and has put up strong stats and made impacts on the field yet hasn’t received the attention he deserves.
How do you prepare for games?
Going into game day I’ll watch over film throughout the entire week, and mostly I stay calm and don’t over complicate things. Youngboy is a must to listen to on game day, but I usually focus on staying calm.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
The relationships I’ve built for sure, I’m still friends with kids I’ve played football with back in flag football. But also the life lessons football has taught me and how its matured me into the man I am today.
What should we know about Isaiah Onuschak the person?
I’m humble and I don’t like talking about myself, but I am someone who loves to compete and gives everything I have in everything I do.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I’m looking forward to putting the pieces together this year. We’ve made a lot of progress over the past 3 years I’ve been here that I’m confident will show on the field this year.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I’ve been trying to obtain the mindset of taking things one day at a time. And being the best I can throughout each day and I would say it’s helped a great amount with my challenges in life and with football.
10.What would a team get in a player like you?
Someone who is dependable and who is going to do everything they need to get done both on and off the field.
What are you looking to improve the most this upcoming season?
I’m looking to be able to expand my game by being versatile enough to play multiple positions on the field. It’s something I’ve been working on over the summer and I feel confident about it going into the season.
What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?
I’m not the loudest person on the field but I do feel I lead in different ways. Leading by example and bringing my team together is a huge aspect.
