What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Growing up, my father put me into many different sports and football was one of them. Started playing at five years old and I ended up being pretty good at it ever since and I have fell in love with it since then and never looked back!
What is your favorite route and why?
My favorite route would be a a corner or a post because you can work the top of the route and create good seperation in order to create a big plus opportunity.
What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?
I’m a laid back kid, but I’m someone who tries to pick everyone’s spirits up, try and make plays to get my teammates excited so that we can win ball games.
What sets you apart from other wide receivers?
I would say my route running. I was always big on technique and route running and I think that’s one part of my game that I always have worked on because creating separation is a crucial part in being a receiver.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
My favorite moments would be playing in the big 33 game in high school and being able to represent my home state against Maryland. It was a big honor and something I’ll always cherish throughout my life. I also enjoy the many lessons that football teaches you about how to be successful in life!
What should we know about Darian Street the person?
I’m someone who is laid back and someone who you can always talk to no matter the circumstances. I am a hardworking guy with ambition and enjoy making others happy.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
It would probably be Tyler Boyd because he is someone I model my game after and someone who I crossed paths with before. He’s a good dude.
What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?
The keys to success are alignment, assignment, and effort! These three things go hand in hand and can take you a long way in this sport!
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Football has taught me so many lessons and I try and carry those lessons not only in football but in life. It’s probably one of the only sports that separates the boys from the men and is something I will forever be thankful. Football has put me in so many great positions and has took me to so many places. Learning how to get knocked down and keep going over and over again is a big one!
What would a team get in a player like you?
They would get a good kid for one, who could help their team win ball games. They would get a smooth route runner with great ball skills and someone who can shine a light in the building on and off the field.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I’m looking forward to playing along side my teammates and building memories. I’m excited to make a championship run!
If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?
Hardworking, team oriented, competitive, disciplined, and positive!
