Former standout high school quarterback Aahric Whitehead was shot and killed in Indiana
Aahric Whitehead was a standout quarterback for Merryville High School in Indiana, and we are saddened to report that he died.
Police Officers arrived to the 7200 block of Taft street following a report of gunfire. When they arrived they found two individuals injured by gunfire. One of those injured was Whitehead, who would later succumb to his injuries.
Whitehead passed for 1,691 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior, and threw for 1,250 yards and 12 TDs as a senior, when the Pirates advanced to the semistate.
His school posted this on their Twitter account:
“Please keep the family and friends of Aahric Whitehead in your thoughts, prayers, and heart as we mourn his passing. Aahric was beloved by his Pirate Football coaches and teammates.”
According to NWI.com, he recently became a union carpenter apprentice. He was just 20 year-old.
