What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring a leadership energy. I’ve been selected captain 2 times and there’s no play I’m not going to give it my all.

What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

Just my overall IQ, my footwork, being able to offensive personnel and tendencies on film that the teams do and my physicality.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Just being on the field with my boys and winning a conference championship and making plays.

What is your favorite coverage and why?

I feel like man to man is my favorite coverage. I’m more of a bigger corner and I like the physicality of it.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I think at a young age in a football family everyone played football. My friends played football and so did my older brother and it made me fall in love with it.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I would definitely say just being able to go out there and play football everyday. And being healthy and playing 100 percent. And there’s nothing like friday night lights.

What should we know about Vincent Shaw the person?

Overall good guy, at the end of the day I strive to become a better player and be a leader that somebody can count on.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Deion Sanders, I’m a big Deion Sanders fan and I really like watching him on film and at the end of the day someone who I like to mold my play after.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I take them head on and I don’t like shying away from them and just handling them and keep going and do not let them affect your game.

What would a team get in a player like you?

I would say a high IQ, smart player, ready to handle adversity and give them my all everyday.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

Short memory, knowing what the team is going to give you through preparation, go through practice like a game and strong mentality.

What do you love about the game of football?

Being able to go out there and enjoy a kid’s game and being able to play and compete against a team and competing is the best part of this game.
